About the Meeting
This seminar is designed to provide a comprehensive and practical review of gastrointestinal, hepatic, genitourinary, pancreaticobiliary, breast and cytopathology, as well as an overview of diagnostic immunohistochemistry and other ancillary diagnostic techniques. All faculty will discuss diagnostic pitfalls and pearls for an accurate diagnosis, as well as provide a comprehensive review of appropriate ancillary diagnostic techniques. About The Meeting
This seminar is designed to provide a comprehensive and practical review of gastrointestinal, hepatic, genitourinary, pancreaticobiliary, breast and cytopathology, as well as an overview of diagnostic immunohistochemistry and other ancillary diagnostic techniques. All faculty will discuss diagnostic pitfalls and pearls for an accurate diagnosis, as well as provide a comprehensive review of appropriate ancillary diagnostic techniques. There will be significant time for interactive discussion between participants and faculty members.
Target Audience
This CME activity is primarily designed to educate practicing pathologists.
Educational Objectives
Attendees should, at the completion of this course, be able to:

Describe the various cytomorphologic features of metastatic malignancies, emphasizing differential diagnosis, pitfalls and clues to determine a primary site of origin.

Discuss the use of ancillary studies in the work-up of metastases, with particular emphasis on immunohistochemistry using an algorithmic approach.
-
Utilize strict and well-defined criteria in the evaluation and diagnosis of thyroid follicular lesions.
-
Discuss the diagnostic features and differential diagnosis of columnar cell lesions of the breast.
-
Discuss the diagnostic features and differential diagnosis of papillary lesions of the breast.
-
Describe the diagnostic features and clinical significance of a variety of breast lesions with particular reference to the implications of these diagnoses in core needle biopsy specimens.
-
Discuss the differential diagnosis of granulomas in the liver.
-
Discuss the differential diagnosis of infectious enterocolitides and non-infectious entities that they mimic.
-
Describe the diagnostic criteria for inflammatory lesions of the appendix.
-
Identify the subtle histomorphologic features that can help to distinguish well-differentiated ductal adenocarcinoma from the reactive changes in the pancreas.

Describe the anatomic/histologic compartments of the ampulla and their significance in the versatility and subclassification of ampullary cancers.
-
Evaluate new concepts in terminology and histologic grading of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors.
-
Discuss recent modifications related to prostate cancer grading and how it relates to active surveillance.
-
Recognize and diagnose less common variants of renal epithelial neoplasia, including new entities added to the recently updated WHO classification of genitourinary cancers.
-
Explain the use of appropriate biomarkers to diagnose and subtype genitourinary neoplasms.
-
Review the current definition of Barrett's esophagus and the role of the pathologist in establishing this diagnosis.
-
Identify the major features of both ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, as well as newer recognized forms of IBD.
-
Review current controversies in the nomenclature of common colorectal polyps.
No special educational preparation is required for this CME activity.

If your registration cannot be accepted, you will be issued a full tuition refund.
Tuition for live webcast includes participation for one registrant. Each registrant must sign-in on a separate computer to receive credit. Prior to the meeting we will send you further information about the log in process. We will also send you a comprehensive color electronic course syllabus via email. Cancellations
Cancellations must be received in writing. A $50 processing fee will be applied to all cancellations. Refunds requested in writing prior to March 11, 2016 will be issued for the amount of tuition paid less the $50 processing fee. No refunds will be made on or after that date.
